17/365 - 27.8.13

Exploring the East Coast Park in this contraption wasn't easy - it was so heavy that toddlers on tricycles overtook us!

16/365 - 26.8.13

A delightful view of the Indian Ocean greeted us when we arrived at the East Coast Park.  If you look carefully you can make out a fleet of tankers and container ships on the horizon.

15/365 - 25.8.13

Happy birthday to Aislinn!  Sweet sixteen!

14/365 - 24.8.13

At Bukit Batok I followed the sweaty trainers smell and discovered the famous durian fruit on sale in the market.  I did not buy one!

13/365 - 23.8.13

These lovely ladies are Karen and Norma, who have looked after me this week.  Karen's amazing display about our Learner Profiles is reminiscent of Donna's wonderful 3D work!

12/365 - 22.8.13

To celebrate Aislinn's excellent GCSE results we enjoyed a delicious meal at the local Italian restaurant.  Aislinn's smile is due to the yummy chocolate lava cake, I suspect, as well as all the A*s!

11/365 - 21.8.13

The Festival of the Hungry Ghosts is happening at the moment; the gates of Heaven and Hell have opened and spirits are roaming free.  Families have set up offerings of food and drink for the spirits all over the city.  There are also many bonfires where fake money, paper mobile phones and even cars and ipads are burnt for the spirits to take back with them!

10/365 - 20.8.13

This is the Junior Adventure Playground at school, just one of the many outdoor play areas.  I wonder whether I am too big to have a go?

9/365 - 19.8.13

We discovered this delicious reminder of home at VivoCity (another enormous shopping mall!) and thought instantly of Megan;)  Cost per cupcake $3.50!

8/365 - 18.8.13

Here I am at the Dairy Farm Reserve Park, very local to us.  The lake is an old quarry with turtles and enormous goldfish swimming around in there.  On the way home we had to take a detour skillfully avoiding a troupe of monkeys strewn about the track!

7/365 -17.8.13

In the amazing temple, Chinatown.  We aim to spend much more time here!  Also spotted a box of frogs and a dissected eel's head.  Not on my shopping list.

6/365 - 16.8.13

Plaza Singapura, one of the MANY shopping malls Aislinn is thrilled about visiting!  It has an excellent food court downstairs.

5/365 -15.8.13

One of the many varieties of beautiful Bougainville flowers that are dotted around the grounds of our condo.

4/365 -14.8.13

Clarke Quay, Singapore.  Very pleasant to stroll around & people watch.  Beware the prices!

3/365 - 13.8.13

This is the lovely view from our living room window.  We are up on the 8th floor!

2/365 - 12.8.13

This is the jumbo that took us from Manchester to Singapore!  I was the very last passenger to embark.

1/365

Here I am with my family enjoying a good old British Sunday lunch. It was lovely to be together before we depart these shores tomorrow.
